The latest additions to this year’s Download Festival to be held at Donnington Park in Nottinghamshire have just been announced. Joining the headliners of The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath are; Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden, Chase & Status, You Me At Six and Tenacious D.
Metallica have confirmed that they will be playing a headline set that will feature the entirety of their classic 1991 self-titled fifth album – widely known as ‘The Black Album‘.
They will headline the festival’s Saturday night, while Black Sabbath are currently set to close the event on Sunday (June 10) but it remains to be seen whether their headline slot will be affected by the recent announcement of Tony Iommi’s Cancer diagnosis. The band have not yet said if his condition will impact on their planned world tour.
With a promise of debuting new material, The Prodigy will headline the festival’s first night on Friday 8th June.
