Rob Da Bank Makes Statement Over Bestival Bus Crash

Rob Da Bank has issued a statement after a bus crash caused the death of three people leaving Bestival on Monday (Sept 10th). Da Bank, who organises the annual event, posted on the festival’s Facebook wall to express his sadness and reach out to the families of those affected by the crash.

“I just wanted to personally send my condolences and heartfelt sorrow to the families and friends of everyone affected by the coach crash after Bestival. Myself, Josie, John, Ziggy, Ben and the whole Bestival family and production team are devastated that this has happened at the end of what was hopefully a joyous weekend of music and fun for most and leaves a shadow over all of us. Bestival is a festival that thrives on positive music and good vibes so this has been a terrible shock. We’re in constant touch with Surrey Police and are assisting in any way we can.”

18-year-old teen Michael Molloy has been named as one of the three festival goers who were killed in the bus crash. Molloy, an aspiring musician, had enjoyed a weekend at the festival with friends, but was tragically killed when the coach he was travelling in overturned close to Hindhead, Surrey.

The driver of the bus, Colin Daulby, 63, was also killed in the impact. A third person was also killed in the incident but has yet to be named. 50 people were injured in the crash, which took place at 11.50pm on Monday night.

Eleven people remain in hospital, with some having suffered what police have described as ‘life-changing’ injuries.
