Dog Is Dead Reveal New Video For ‘Teenage Daughter’

Dog Is Dead
Following the release of their debut album All Our Favourite Stories this month, Nottingham quintet Dog Is Dead are pleased to announce details of their new single ‘Teenage Daughter’, out December 10 on Atlantic Records. The band will also be heading out on a UK + Ireland album tour this October/November. The run of dates kick off at Manchester’s Academy 3 on Oct 23, following with shows in Birmingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Exeter, Brighton and Leeds, before finishing up at London’s Scala on November 7.

Commenting on the new single, singer Rob says – “Teenage Daughter is a song I wrote about a conversation I had at the end of a party. I was talking to a girl who thought she may be pregnant just after she’d split from her boyfriend to go travelling around the world. It’s how I imagined life would be the next time I saw her if she had the baby. It’s about biting your lip and taking life head-on.”

All Our Favourite Stories received a flurry of glowing reviews upon its release. The Guardian exclaimed ‘solid gold indie pop songs ornamented with real precision and flair’ and the Daily Telegraph praised the band’s ‘glistening harmonies, neat rhythmic shifts and sudden blasts of shimmering guitars.’

Over the past few weeks, the band have been travelling up and down the country, performing at various instores and they also played a sold out homecoming show in Nottingham on October 8, which was held at the prestigious Boat Club venue (acts that have contributed to the venue’s legacy include Jimi Hendrix, Sex Pistols, Led Zeppelin). Furthermore, having become a firm favourite of Huw Stephens, Dog Is Dead performed two tracks on Huw’s Radio 1 daytime show a few weeks back (October 13) live from Maida Vale.

It’s fair to say the past year has been a massive one for these five 21-year-olds. This summer, the band played 25 festivals, including their storming Reading + Leeds performance, and headed out on a 30-date UK headline tour in February. They’ve also received huge on-going support from the likes of Radio 1, XFM, NME Radio and MTV Rocks.

Having had an immensely triumphant 2012, next year is set to be an ever bigger one for these Nottingham lads.
