Green Day Reveal Title of ‘Come Back’ Single
Green Day have announced the name of the first single to be taken from their forthcoming ‘¡Uno!’ album, the first of their ‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ album trilogy. The track, entitled ‘Oh Love’, will premiere on 16th July, according to Green Day’s official site.
‘¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré!’ will be released in three stages, with the first album ‘¡Uno!’ coming out on 24th September. The second LP ‘¡Dos!’ comes out on 12th November and ‘¡Tré!’ on 14th January 2013. All of the albums are available to pre-order now from the band’s website.
Last week, the band unveiled the artwork for ‘¡Dos!’. The new cover is similar to the recently unveiled cover for ‘¡Uno!’ but instead of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, it features bassist Mike Dirnt’s face with his eyes crossed out, against a yellow background. The artwork debuted via a YouTube clip. You can watch the video by scrolling down and clicking.
Armstrong recently called the band’s forthcoming trilogy of albums “a crazy idea that happens to be working really well.” Speaking to Rolling Stone, Armstrong also explained that the new albums will be ‘power pop’. He said of the band’s musical direction: “We wanted something punchier, more power pop – somewhere between AC/DC and the early Beatles.”
Green Day will play headline shows at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival and France’s Rock En Seine in August and a headline slot at I-Day festival in Bologna, Italy on 2nd September as well as three shows in Germany in late August.
