Little Boots Teases New Single
Little Boots has debuted a teaser for her new video for ‘Headphones’, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to watch it. The track is the third song the singer has unveiled in the lead-up to the release of her as yet untitled second album, with tracks ‘Every Night I Saw A Prayer’ and ‘Shake’ previously released.
Speaking about the video, Little Boots, whose real name is Victoria Hesketh, said that the video was inspired by the cult Wim Wenders film Paris Texas. She said:
“The inspiration for the video was partly from the Wim Wenders film Paris Texas and the idea of a peep show revolving around headphones and listening to music as opposed to talking. The idea is that everyday characters enter a booth and on listening to the song their extrovert selves appear in the reflection, so the song is a way of releasing their inner selves and setting the crazier side of them free.”
Asked why she’d opted for this, Hesketh said: “We wanted to create an energetic party atmosphere to fit the song whilst avoiding the cliches of a lot of current club themed videos.”
Then asked about the inspiration for the song itself, she added:
“It was inspired by the idea of wanting to go out with your friends but not enjoying the music being played, so sneaking your own headphones into a club so you can dance to the music you want to, kind of the ultimate silent disco soundtrack!”
Little Boots has just completed a short UK tour supporting Scissor Sisters.
