Maximo Park Announce Two Intimate Dates
Maximo Park have revealed plans to play two intimate shows in Stoke and York this May. The gigs lead up to the Newcastle band’s appearance at The Great Escape festival in Brighton on 10th May.
Maximo Park will be showcasing songs from their forthcoming fourth album at the gigs which take place at Stoke Sugarmill on 8th May and York’s The Duchess on 9th May. The band will embark on more UK shows later this year, with dates to be announced. They’ll also play at Newcastle’s Revolution festival and Kendal Calling, along with a handful of European dates. Speaking to recently, frontman Paul Smith told fans to expect an “exciting, emotional and energetic show” at The Great Escape, adding: “We’re the kind of band who rise to the occasion.”
The band have been working on their new album, the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Quicken The Heart’, with Foo Fighters and Pixies cohort Gil Norton, ahead of an expected summer release.
