BRIT Critics Choice winners should always be taken seriously; with Tom Odell, Emile Sande and Jessie J amongst the list of previous winners, 21 year old Sam Smith joins the list as the next big thing for 2014.

Sam has spent 2013 gaining a formidable reputation, featuring on two of the UK’s biggest songs; Disclosures’ ‘Latch’ and Naughty Boys’ ‘La la la‘, the two tracks spent a combined total of 57 weeks inside the UK Singles Chart this year.

2014 looks set to be another huge year; kick starting with the Critics Choice Award as well as a leading contender for BBC’s Sound Of… poll. He’s set to release his debut album in March; titled In the Lonely Hour, with his first single ‘Money On My Mind’ out 16 February.
