Following the announcement of the release of their first album in 23 years, Black Francis and co will be joining Elbow, Ellie Goudling and Dizzee Rascal in headlining the event at The Eden Project.
Rita Broe, Eden’s Marketing Director, said:
““For nearly 30 years Pixies have been one of the most revered rock bands in the world and have inspired a galaxy of other top artists.
We are massively excited to be able to welcome them to Eden. It feels like Pixies and the Sessions is a marriage made in rock heaven. With their addition to an already massive bill, this promises to be our best Sessions season ever.”
The band recently announced the release of new album, Indie Cindy, which will be the grunge icons’ fifth album, and their first since 1991’s Trompe Le Monde. Produced by Gil Norton, who also produced classic Pixies records such as Doolittle and Bossanova, the album will be released on 28 April.
Eden Sessions take place from Saturday 21st June to Monday 14th July at the Eden Project at St Austell in Cornwall.
Pixies will play on Wednesday 9th July. Tickets go on sale at 6pm on Tuesday 1st April, 2014.
