Introducing: Eliza and the Bear

Eliza and the bear are a relatively new band, having only formed in 2011. However, with a growing fan base and successful tours with both Paramore and Imagine Dragons under their belts (not to mention the backing of Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe) this five-piece from London are set to have a very interesting 2014.

The band is made up of James Kellegher (lead vocals, guitar), Callie Noakes (vocals, keyboards), Martin Dukelow (vocals, guitar), Chris Brand (bass) and Paul Kevin Jackson (drums), and together they create an indie/folk/pop fusion, with catchy melodies and some awesome ‘ooooh’s’ and ‘aaahhh’s’ thrown in for good measure.

Their most recent single ‘It Gets Cold’ is an energetic anthem-in-waiting. It has a Vampire Weekend feel, with its light-hearted, upbeat sound, and as the song progresses and hits its emphatic climax, it’s easy to see why Eliza and the Bear had a successful summer festival tour – as you can practically hear the crowd chanting the lyrics back in unison!

They have recently begun their ‘Satellite’ Tour, as well as combining with Luke Sital Singh, Farewell J.R and Annie Eve for the Communion ‘New Faces’ Tour, and will be playing dates across the UK.
