Carl Barats’ THE JACKALS are set to play an intimate show in Reading next week. Alongside the newly reformed The Libertines; the singer will play his first show with his new band at Sub89 in Reading on 13 May.
The Jackals were recruited via a Facebook post; where Carl advertised the positions on his account, which received over 1000 applications for the three positions of drummer, bassist and guitarist. The Reading date is being billed as a warm-up for the bands XOYO show in London on 15 May, which will see Trampolene and Lois & The Love support the band in the capital.
Carl Barat recently announced The Libertines will headline a date of the British Summertime Festival in Hyde Park; alongside The Pouges and Maximo Park. Both Barat and Pete Doherty have stated the Libertines will be playing intimate warm-up shows in preparation to the BST event.
Tickets for The Jackals Reading performance will be on sale 09 May at 9am.
